In a statement on January 10, 2025, a spokesperson for Comhairle Uladh (Ulster Executive), Sinn Féin Poblachtach said: “These incidents of misconduct from the British colonial police keep piling up and are causing long lasting emotional damage.
“Last week it was reported that an off-duty RUC/PSNI officer had been shot with his own gun and a long-serving member was arrested for Misconduct in Public Office over an inappropriate relationship with a victim of a crime.
“No week goes by that the news media doesn’t report on some type of incident in the never-ending whirlwind of RUC/PSNI shame.
“Public safety has to be off all time concern for the Occupied Six Counties — policing quangos. Having looked back over numerous incidents where these gun-totting, coke-snorting and party rambling drunks have either discharged a personal protection weapon in a public arena or taken advantage of someone’s vulnerabilities.
“Sinn Féin Poblachtach have stated on many occasions that these RUC/PSNI thugs need to be disbanded. If it weren’t so serious you would really think it was some type of spaghetti Western: the good, the bad and the ugly with a storyline of thrill-seeking: revenge, confrontation and love cheating.
“It is only the pro-British apologists in Stormont, media outlets and RUC/PSNI HQ propagandists in Brooklyn, Knock Road working as a collective to blindside the public in believing that they (the police) are delivering on their ethos: ‘we care, we listen, we act’. The ‘PSNI’ were billed as a new police force to replace the disgraced RUC; however it was obvious from the beginning that it was just renaming the old sectarian British police force.”
